My Project

This project comes down to one word. Paper.

There are many ways that we use paper in our class, and this project asks for some of each type.

We write on lined paper that is big enough for our learning writers. We do math on graph paper. We write stories and illustrate them on story paper. Notebooks of several types are used throughout our school day, including composition books and lined notebook paper.

After our learning is done, we create! Art is a favorite part of our day, and it allows for additional learning and creativity for our hands-on learners. Items such as paper plates, paper bags, paper scraps, and drawing paper allow us to create amazing artwork that goes along with each of our lessons.

Because so many of our students struggle with engagement, having colorful materials to keep their attention is so important. One of the biggest costs of my teacher budget is buying colored paper which allows me to print and create learning materials, crafts, and bulletin boards to increase student engagement.

The last way I use paper is as a background for the amazing bulletin boards that we create, so I have included a few rolls of background paper that will serve as a canvas for our creations.

Art has so many connections to our learning, and it all starts with a piece of paper!
