Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I love teaching PE to my students! Together we learn to love movement, fitness and healthy living. These kiddos aspire to be strong and fit. One even asked me if she did the activities with me if she would be strong enough to open her own pickles.
I adore their energy, their daily high fives, and hugs, and their patience with me with communication as the majority of them speak Spanish.
They love engaging games and friendly competiton but are in need or more equipment!
My Project
At our elementary school, we have some of the most beautiful scholars in the world who deserve the very best! I am new to these kiddos this year and LOVE creating fun and engaging PE lessons for all ability levels, but I need more materials to make this dream come true. MUSIC is EVERYTHING in PE to keep things moving and we need a Bluetooth speaker to help me move around with them while controlling the music from my phone. The dry erase folders will allow me the opportunity to incorporate literacy and math into my PE lessons - how cool is that? The stability balls, poly spots, bean bags and other materials are either nonexistent, damaged, or scarce at our school. We simply need new stuff! With quality materials, I can plan and implement some fabulous lessons with my students in order to help them fall in love with living healthy lifestyles.
