This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in our band have been working hard to expand the program and have been doing a wonderful job at it. Every year they raise the bar and work hard to jump over it. We are a small (but growing) band in a medium-large high school in rural California. The community is very supportive of the students as is the school administration. We perform at local events and travel to competitions in our area to give the students a chance to showcase their accomplishments.

My Project

Our band program is growing in leaps and bounds, and we have run out of music stands. Our program has been growing and shows no signs of slowing down.

Having enough music stands for all of our performers to use is a very important thing.

It can be very challenging to perform if you are using a music stand that is falling apart, or if you have to share a stand with another student.

These new music stands will create a better learning environment for the student musicians and allow them to focus on performing without fighting with a lack of music stands.
