This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students work extremely hard learning how to read. They work on sight words daily over the past few months the rug is not tidy at all. In the morning the entire class sits on the rug. Ninety percent of my kiddos are reading on first grade level. I am very proud of them. The school that I work at is in a poverty location. Your donations to my project will be greatly appreciated! The rug will enhance the environment of my classroom that I strive to create.

My classroom setting will be a conductive learning environment. The rug is a place that my students really enjoy-I read on the carpet to them and they read independently! Every student is treated with love and care in my classroom, and they will be thankful for the opportunities to be able to sit on a fresher rug .This educational rug has been chosen with my students in mind-I have watched them the past few months of school read passages and sight words. I have also asked them what type of books they will enjoy reading. Their number one books were Dr.Seuss. Students will be able to continue to enjoy independent reading and group time on the rug.
