This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Social emotional well-being is extremely important for the learning of our children. Many of my students require tools to help them regulate their emotions. Due to their abilities, they are not able to self-regulate, express their emotions or de-escalate when they are having a difficult time. I would like to create a cozy environment where my students could go in the classroom to help them self-regulate when they're feeling overwhelmed or upset. They would be able to use calming sensory items that will help them recognize and express their feelings.
