My Students

I teach drawing and painting classes to 9-12 graders in high poverty and low socioeconomic area. For many of my kids, this is their first taste of art class and getting to showcase their creative talents.

In the short amount of time I've worked with my kids, they have shown that they want to know more about the world around them, to express themselves in ways they have never done before.

These are kids that try their best even when many have counted them out. I have enjoyed getting to know them through their creativity on their art projects.

My Project

For the first half of the year, we went hard with our projects and used many of our supplies; many of which were provided by the amazing members of donors choose! As my students and I enter the second semester, we are lacking many supplies.

To make sure we start out strong, we are looking to refresh our supplies!

We need to add more pencils as they are quickly used during not only our shading portrait project but throughout the semester due to our drawing projects. Same with our color pencils, and rulers. I have found with the best supplies that we get the best results! Thank you so much for reading!
