My Students
In an era where technology rules our lives, our children are no exception. As a second year teacher, I have learned first hand how difficult it is to engage students in reading. A versatile classroom library is essential to create life-long learners.
My ICT classroom is made up of both ESL students as well as students with disabilities. They are hardworking and curious, despite all of the obstacles that life has thrown their way. Although the school year has just begun, we have already started our journey of becoming a family.
My Project
My students will use these novels during independent reading sessions, including AM homeroom and lunch periods. By choosing novels that touch upon a wide variety of topics, I hope to find different entry points to reach each of my students. By having access to a classroom library, our class will not only be able to improve their literacy skills, but they will have the opportunity to either grow or strengthen a love for reading.
My class contains the artists, engineers, doctors, and politicians of the future. With your donations, I will be able to provide them with a variety of reading material to grasp their interest and open the doors to their bright futures.
