Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are eager to learn. They come from all over the world! They like to explore new things! Such a diverse student body allows me to be more creative in class! I would love to be able to offer my students a variety of materials to do so.

Games like Algebra Bingo provide ample opportunities for the students to work collaboratively and to discuss their thinking ideas.

The use of the white boards, for example, allows the students the opportunity to solve problems in groups and to verbalize their thinking.

In general, the use of manipulatives make it possible for me to move away from the traditional textbook/notebook teaching style and to focus on students-centered classroom. This will help them to better learn new concepts and to understand future applications of math in real life.
