My students are the best. I bet a lot of teachers say this. They are so fun to be around. Each student has a great personality that makes our classroom fun, engaging, hard-working, and unique.
I was very lucky with my class this year.
My students students all seem to care about one another. I have had students constantly looking out for one another in their personal and school lives. I have worked hard with my students in being honest. They understand that honesty is the best policy and if they are honest, they don't get into as much trouble, because it means they understand they did something wrong.
I have more girls than boys in my class, which is uncommon in my grade. This dynamic has made it an interesting class in that we do a lot of acting/dancing in our class. This class challenges me, but they also make me want to be a better teacher for them. I love pulling pranks on my kids and being sarcastic. We love telling stories and really emphasizing what makes each of us unique.
My project is to help get more books into my classroom. As a new teacher, I don't have many resources. I chose books on students reading levels and that students have mentioned that they have interest in.
The books donated will help my students have more options and accessibility to reading.
Books like Hatchet, Abraham Lincoln, Shipwreck and others will be great assets to our classroom. Books will be added to the class library for the students to grab and read at any time during the day.
I want my students to have a love for reading. This will come from the accessibility that they will have to great reading resources. Books will include fiction and non-fiction.
