This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I school in a major city and a lot of our students come from difficult home lives. It's a high poverty area, and this year our school budget has been cut severely. We need your help!

We are one of the few schools in the area that has a strong art program, and I am so grateful for it.

Over the past six years that I have been here, I have seen more and more students turn to art as a form of expression. These students love art, and I think it's important to keep that love growing.

My Project

We just started the new school year and I can tell that we are already in need of the Art Room essentials! My students need regular #2 pencils to draw with and erasers to fix mistakes. Every day I tell students to bring pencils to class but many of them forget or lose them. This is why I have pencil cups on each table, but I'm afraid the pencils I started out with have already disappeared!

The other item every Art Room needs are wipes.

We do a lot of fun projects in here with pastels, paint, and glue. These projects can get messy quick which is why we need wipes to help clean up! I am also asking for wipes to keep the room sanitary. There are a lot of students filing in and out of here everyday, and if we can wipe the desk we can help stay on top of the germs.
