This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Superheroes. Yes, my classroom is bursting with real-live superheroes! In fact, there are 30 of them! Their superpower is the ability to think critically about what they are learning, while also demonstrating the most commendable character traits.

As I watch these scholars learn virtually, I believe, if supported, they can achieve virtually anything!

Each morning as they enter our Zoom classroom, they commit to showing grit, kindness, respect, and the highest work ethic. Yes, these scholars have plans to succeed because even at this young age in this challenging season, they are aware our world needs superheroes!

My Project

As we enter our fourth month of remote learning, one aspect that has been noticeably challenging is not having access to a printer. I don’t live near the school I teach at, and so printing documents and projects has been timed around when I can make the trek to school.

Additionally, I have so many wonderful workbooks, in every subject, that would be wonderful resources if I could scan them and send to my students as a PDF, but once again, a printer is required.

Funding of this project would provide a simple printer, ink cartridges to get us started, and laminating sheets for a bookmark/whiteboard project we have already started.
