Our Academy Chess Club

Help me give my students the gift of chess. I am starting a chess club at our Academy. My hope is that this project will be funded and my club will be able to start soon.

My Project

Many of my students have asked to have a chess club at our Academy. I know there will be a cost for online learning materials, but mainly I want to get chess boards and timers for each pair of students that will be playing during club hours. My hope is to have 20 students join the club, and based on the pleas from many students to establish this club, I think that ten sets and ten timers will meet our needs.

Our Academy is located in the inner city (New Haven) and our students are 99% minority.

The club will have 30 minutes of class time and 30 minutes of game time.

Any help is appreciated.
