My Students

Our first grade students are eager to bring learning to life. We want to provide more opportunities to learn more about science, technology, engineering, math, and phonics. They light up when presented with new challenges, show perseverance during problems, and acceptance with helping others at different learning levels.

I would like to feed this hunger for knowledge and help them grow through iPads and OSMO kits.

The options are endless on how we can use these tools every day! Through resources are limited, we are making the best of what our small district has available. They can't wait to take a turn using the two iPads we have.

My Project

The first grade team is interested in incorporating OSMO education technology systems into our existing language arts, math, and science curriculum; along with promoting creative thinking, problem-solving, and engineering skills. It enriches the way our students interact with the iPad by enabling hands-on learning through play.

OSMOs bring learning to life by letting students interact with the programs to create immediate feedback for their learning.

The OSMO website provides lessons for teachers to incorporate OSMOs into all areas of learning such as STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math), phonics, reading, handwriting, art and much more. The Osmo kit consists of base/reflector and five ‘games’ that focus on math, literacy, and problem-solving skills. We are requesting one Osmo and one iPad for Miss Beard and Miss Brewer to each have in our classroom.
