My Students

My kindergarten classroom is full of students who are eager to learn new things. They are all on different levels, from having no prior knowledge to being above grade. They love taking learning into their own hands and then teaching each other their new skills. Osmos are a great way for my students to use hands on technology to help enhance their learning. They will be able to work independently or collaboratively, depending the activity they choose and their learning style.

My Project

My students love using the Osmo product that we currently have. It helps enhance their creativity, math, word awareness, and critical thinking skills. We use these tools during small group teaching times in math, literacy, free center time, and intervention. Osmo allows the ability to create an account for each student so to enable them to work at their own pace. They can go from number identification to adding and beyond in math, pick out sounds in words then begin to spell words, and use critical thinking skills in the Tangram and Newton functions. I love the way the program incorporates real objects with the iPads in order to keep the tactile aspect of early learning. The program is really engaging and gives automatic feedback to encourage the child to keep working!

Adding two more Osmo accessories to our iPads will add a seemingly endless learning tool to our classroom learning environment.

This multidisciplinary tool will motivate students while using actual objects in conjunction with technology. Allowing more students to take advantage of this program at one time will make our learning times more efficient. We love Osmo!
