OSMO Learning in Kindergarten

Help me give my students Osmo Starter Kits and games to encourage learning using STEM and so much more!

My Students

The students at my school are from a rural farm community. We have a small school at the edge of a large corporation. Our students come from all socioeconomic backgrounds. We are lucky to have great families that work hard and are involved in our school events, but we don't get a lot of extra funding from the state. This is due to our school not qualifying as a Title I school. Title I schools have a higher level of free and reduced-price lunches than we currently have.

My sweet kiddos are hard workers, but they have lots of extra energy and thrive during hands-on activities.

We try to keep moving around our classroom several times throughout the day to help with this. I also have tried to incorporate a flexible seating environment to keep their little bodies wiggling, while engaged in learning, while at our seats. We have had a lot of success when we use hands-on manipulatives and activities.

I love to provide learning opportunities that will get my students moving, thinking, and stimulating their learning by creating.

My Project

I am so excited to promote STEM in my classroom by incorporating these new OSMO Learning Kits. The students will be able to use literacy, math, and coding to learn at their own level! We have a few iPads in our room and I am always looking for ways to incorporate them into our Centers time in an engaging yet educational way and these OSMO Kits are going to be perfect! Plus, a little bit of beginning coding is an added bonus with a few coding games.

My students will have so much fun exploring all kinds of games and activities with these new OSMO Kits that they won't even realize they are learning!

I love that these kits take the students at their level and can move them along all the way through elementary. I also requested a few of the beginning OSMO Kits for my students who are struggling with beginning kindergarten skills including letter formation and number recognition, so they are not left behind. This OSMO Kit will help them gain the confidence at a lower level and then they can work their way up to where they need to be.
