Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One unique aspect of teaching science is having lab activities. I love lab days and try to have as many as possible since to me this is not only how students learn better but what makes science alive! As a teacher though, prepping for lab behind the scenes can be time consuming and requires a lot of organization.

The modern science lab prep often uses lab kits bought from a company, but in a school like mine these kits are not bought regularly and I often am left trying to piece kits together, figuring out what I need and whether it is missing.

This project is 3 different organs and scapels to allow my Anatomy and Physiology students more opportunities to see in person what organs look like through dissection. Funding this will allow me to have more lab days in my classroom and continue to reuse science kits for years to come. We need a sheep heart and cow eye for dissection as well as a scalpel.
