This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach a diverse group of 68 students in a small, rural community. We have 31 girls and 37 boys in our room. My students are some of the sweetest, smartest children I have ever met.
My 4th-grade students need to be actively engaged in all content areas-especially reading!
They are hard workers and want to learn. They enjoy working in small groups, STEM activities, online technology, and reading books on their individual levels. Not only do they strive to do their best, but they also always try to encourage one another as well.
My Project
My students need a better method for organizing our technological equipment within our classroom. Right now, students' Chromebooks are stacked high on a student desk. Our desktop computers are also on student desks. This does not provide a sturdy space for the equipment. We use our technology daily in ELA, Math, and Science, so we need it to last.
My students need new furniture to allow for the proper storage of our classroom technology.
We are asking for a long table to store our classroom desktops and a rolling cart to house my students' Chromebooks. These materials will help my students' keep their technological equipment safe and in working order. We value our classroom technology because it prepares my students for an ever changing future!
