I co-teach an amazing group of second graders! Our students are extremely motivated to learn and have a thirst for knowledge.
We are a diverse school in an incredible town with a very supportive community.
My students come from all walks of life, and together create a unique group of little learners. Our school is a warm, nurturing place where students love to come each day to work together and learn from each other. The goal is to make learning interactive and fun!
My Project
It's amazing to watch students grow as readers throughout the year. As we have added to our library, it has become apparent that we need a better organizational system to allow students to check out books more easily. We need assorted labels so that we can organize our library by genre, author, and topic to help students find their just-right book in record-breaking time. The self-adhesive library pockets will allow students to check out books and maintain a system to finding the books that they are looking for. I want students to spend their time reading and not endlessly searching for the book they want. We will use the notebooks and bulletin border as part of our check out system where students will be able to gain their independence in using our classroom library and develop a sense of ownership in their learning environment.
Students will learn how to care for their materials and be responsible for their things.
We have an extensive classroom library and being able to find what they are looking for is critical in maintaining their focus and motivation to read! These new resources will afford my students with the gift of time spent reading and enjoying a quality book! They will also help students gain a sense of responsibility and ownership over the materials they use on a daily basis in the classroom.
