This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 8th-grade cluster is made up of students from a wide variety of backgrounds. In my district, close to 60% of students receive free or reduced price lunch. This means that many do not have the basic supplies that we take for granted.

Like all 8th graders, my kids love to create and explore.

They are most invested in their own learning when they have a hand in creating the assignment. Connecting math, science and art is so important and helps kids explore the concepts on a deeper level.

My Project

My students need whiteboard markers and erasers to help build a more student centered classroom. With these supplies they can quickly and easily show what they know and receive immediate feedback. Pencils are essential in a middle school classroom, especially in math. Having the mechanical pencils available will make them last longer since they can be easily refilled.

Keeping our supplies safe and organized will allow us to use them more frequently.

The 10-drawer organizer will be a great home for all the binding supplies we received this year. Having them in the drawers will make them easily accessible and more organized.
