Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the honor of introducing my students to the joys of music and helping to foster their personal and musical growth. Many of my students face significant socioeconomic, personal, and/or learning challenges, but despite their struggles, they consistently inspire me with their dedication and work ethic.

Author, Hans Christian Andersen famously said, "When words fail, music speaks." Music gives kids a way to express themselves, and the band hall is a getaway where they feel safe and successful.

My Project

These binders and pencil pouches will help our band students to stay organized. They will be able to keep all of their warm-ups and music in one safe place, which will save time looking for music or copying replacement parts. The pencil pouches will allow students to keep pencils, highlighters, reeds, valve oil, and cork grease within easy reach. Students will have everything that they need for the class right there in front of them.

Right now, valuable class time is wasted finding materials, so these supplies would allow them to maximize the instructional time that they are given!
