My students need book bins and a label printer to organize resources to take them beyond the walls of our classroom as we study and read about different topics. I want them to be able to read labels and find books of interest.
I am a happy teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district. My students face several challenges both in and out of the classroom. I feel the most important thing I can do is provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences in a safe and loving environment. My Kinder Kids like to move, love to read and love being here. Many are on free lunch and need all the love we can give. Treating each one of them as if they are my own, I focus on their potential and growth while they are in school with me. I certainly cannot control what happens at home, however, I can control their experience during the day. By giving them positive experiences that are meaningful I hope to inspire all my students to be the best they can be. My goal is to help every child reach his or her greatest potential.
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a place awaiting them. In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The book bins will replace the cardboard containers we currently have in our library. The label maker will be used to create an environment that the students can navigate by reading the labels. They will learn about alphabetical order and authors. Along with the labeled bins the students will learn to categorize the library by topics as well. The students enjoy sitting on the bean bags and looking through books. With your help I will be able to provide them a place that is easy for kindergarten students to navigate easily. Yes, I truly need your support to make this a reality. Thanks!
The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of organizing and locating stories.
They will no longer have to wait on someone to help them find something great to read they will have the resources to do it on their own.
By creating a fun and organized library I believe the students will love to read and want to spend time in that station.
