Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are an amazing group of first graders. Their enthusiasm for learning is inspiring. They have many questions and ideas, which, in turn, lead me to try my best to support them by providing the resources for answering and/or pursuing their interests.
It is great teaching students that have such strive and motivation to do their best.
It brings out the best in teachers, which strongly impacts the students' outcomes.
My students this year have developed into readers, writers, and thinkers. It has been a pleasure pushing them to meet and exceed their potential. I have no doubt that my class next year will be as motivated and eager to learn and grow.
My Project
A working sharpener is an essential classroom tool. Students use pencils and these need sharpening. With a new sharpener, I know that my students will be able to keep their pencils sharp and will waste no time in getting to work. Folders are another essential classroom tool. I am requesting folders for my students' writing and for their science and social studies work.
Organization is important in a classroom.
Students know where to find their materials and where to put them away. With all the papers that are used, it is important to keep them organized and the folders will help us with that.
