My Students

My classroom is made up of 23 wonderful, unique, and smart third grader leaders. They come to school each day ready to learn and they work so hard to be successful in my classroom. My students are very active and engaging them with interesting and new activities is the best way to keep their attention and help them learn.

Our school is home to a diverse group of learners of which close to 50% of those students receive free or reduced-price lunch and come from families where both parents are working one if not more than one job to stay afloat.

School is often the most stable environment for many of our students. My mission is to provide just that for my kiddos each day! We are a Leader In Me school which means we strive to help our students be successful in school, at home, and in the community by using the 7 habits of happy kids in our lessons and throughout our day.

My Project

Living in Michigan means many cold months of indoor recess. My students have 12-15 different games and activities to keep them occupied. However, the boxes that these games come in get easily destroyed from the use they get. When the boxes get destroyed the pieces tend to go missing!

I would love to have our indoor recess materials organized with plastic storage bins that are just the right size for the games that they have.

They are much more durable than the cardboard boxes that the games come in and will help to keep the pieces together.

My students will have to spend less time searching for parts and can enjoy their indoor recess to the fullest. The boxes will also insure that the games are put away organized in the space so they can be pulled out easily next time they are played!
