My Project

My kindergarten students thrive in a classroom that is organized, predictable, and welcoming. In our busy self-contained classroom, we use many hands-on materials throughout the day, and having clearly defined spaces and routines helps students feel comfortable, participate more independently, and stay ready to learn.

These resources will help my students build independence, understand classroom routines, and develop strategies for staying calm and focused.

The rolling storage carts will provide accessible spaces for classroom materials, learning activities, and student work. Students will practice choosing materials, returning items to their proper places, and taking responsibility for their classroom environment. The calming sensory tubes will give students an appropriate hands-on activity to use during quiet moments, transitions, or when they need help regulating and refocusing.

The Take a Break time-clock rug will create a visual and physical space where students can learn about classroom routines, waiting, transitions, and the concept of time. It can be incorporated into our calming area and used during discussions about when activities begin and end. Having a designated space for taking a break will also help students understand that taking a moment to calm their bodies is a positive part of learning.

Together, these resources will help create a classroom where students can learn, explore, regulate, and become more independent. Your support will provide practical tools that my students can use every day while helping make our classroom a calmer, more organized, and supportive place to learn.
