This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are great! I teach in a Title I school in the Dallas area and even though the kids are from an economically challenged environment, they love to learn. They are very interested in reading and I want to foster their love of literature by providing a warm and comfortable area that has easy access to different books that will interest them.

The bookcase and beanbag chair will turn an unused corner of my classroom into a space where the kids can read about adventure, history, fictional, and real characters that expand their world.

The headphones will help my dyslexic kids by allowing them to listen to their favorite stories while they continue to develop their reading skills.
