My Students
A typical day starts with a warm welcome from me to my students. Students enter a friendly and welcoming environment. This sets the stage for all students to give their best. Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much. Together we can meet the demands of the most deserving of children.
My students are primarily low-income students with approximately 90 percent qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch.
Our school is nestled in the heart of the city. At our school we service a large population of Special Education students. Our students have a passion and an eagerness for learning. They are excited about each new school day and what it offers to their intellectual capacity. Students care about each other and are invested in their school community. Many utilize our after school program to help them improve. This is a testament to their strong commitment to their education and their future.
My Project
Please help me give my students the basic resources they need to stay organized in the classroom. Each item is essential to in helping the classroom run efficiently. The laminating machine will help me label all students' materials. Student will know exactly what belongs to them. The Post-iT will help students working in small groups to organize their writing to present to the whole class.
Organization is an essential executive function tool.
When students are organized they are better able to focus on the lesson at hand. Notebooks, in one area and reading books in another a just a few ways our classroom is able to run efficiently.
