Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am teaching an all-new TK/4 class this year. The student make-up is 81% Hispanic with many students being English Language Learners and nearly all students coming from low-income households.

We come together each day to be a community of learners, helping each other to grow, and doing our very best.

They will love hands-on, active, and engaging projects and challenges that will allow them to think outside the box to find solutions. They begin their love for learning in my classroom and continue throughout their educational career.

My Project

My students have been receiving bags of materials monthly to use for distance learning. I have made sure to include all of the necessary tools that they will need for the month ahead. So far, we have had 4 distributions already and that means lots of bags and materials to keep track of. I am noticing that students are losing materials because they didn't have one organized spot to keep everything.

With these crates, students will be able to take materials that they will be getting from school and leaving them in this crate until we need them during our Zoom meetings!

I know that if/when we get back to school, these crates can be brought back to use in class. This will make sure that all of their individual materials again stay in one spot. I know with your support, we can make sure these students stay organized and are prepared each and every day of school.
