A typical day in my classroom is educational, fun and busy! With 27 first grade students coming from a variety of backgrounds, organization is the key. Students come to school eager and ready to learn. My job is to provide them with the environment and the tools they need to succeed.
I teach at a Title-One school located in a low socio-economic area.
My students come from a variety of family, cultural and economic backgrounds. School is a safe place for them to come together to learn and express their creative and unique personalities. Our school provides all of our students with free breakfast and snack daily. Those in need also receive free lunch.
If I had to pick one word to describe my students it would be, "enthusiastic." They are enthusiastic to learn, make friends and try new things.
My Project
My project request is all about organization and resources. My students deserve to come to a classroom that has materials and resources to provide the best possible education for them. I can envision my students sitting on the carpet with their individual write and wipe boards following along with the lesson I am teaching on the mobile teacher cart. These materials can be used for any subject. Having enough working scissors for all my students to use at the same time will also make art projects a snap!
Organization is also a large part of providing students with a stable environment to learn. A clutter free classroom is essential! The organizational systems I have requested will make this a reality in my room.
The materials I am asking for will make a positive difference in my students lives.
All schools should have the materials students need to learn regardless of their families economic status. Providing these materials for my classroom will ensure a better education for my students!
