Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Tagalog, Urdu, Turkish, and Spanish are some of the many languages spoken by the children in my classroom. Our school is a Title I, inner-city school where 90% of the children receive free and reduced-priced lunch. My children are extremely eager to learn and are very appreciative of everything that is given to them. They love coming to school and are excited to begin each day.

My students face many challenges in their daily lives.

Having the necessary materials to learn should not be one of them. The only way I can ensure my children are successful in their educational journey is to provide these tools to them.

We have been blessed to receive many books this year for Guided Reading.

My children do a good job at keeping them all where they belong, however the levels are scattered all over the classroom. It would be ideal to have a cart/bookcase and book bins to keep them all in one location. This would also help in making our reading centers more organized and fluid.

I am excited to have these books organized and leveled for the ease of instruction and readability. These books will be used for many years to come, and keeping them organized will also help preserve them.
