My Students

Time to get fit! We have recently received physical education materials from a Donors Choose project so that we can get physically fit! However, in order to efficiently use the materials and ensure that they are always ready to use we need a cart to organize our new purchases!

My 24 first graders attend school in California.

They are an active and eager bunch. They enjoy school and learning, but like most first graders, one of their favorite times of days is RECESS! They love to play outside. 100% of the families in our school are below the poverty line. Our neighborhood is comprised of many apartments and little to no grass for playing. My students need and deserve fun, inspiring activities to get their bodies healthy and moving!

My Project

I am requesting a kid-friendly indoor/outdoor equipment cart. I believe that this cart will allow us to house our newly acquired equipment in a neat and organized manner. By doing this, I am ensuring that our materials are ready to use at a moment's notice. This cart will also allow me to share our materials with other first grade classrooms without impacting their academic time by sorting/passing out materials.

This project is important because it will increase the impact from 24 students to 125 first grade students!

By allowing other first grade teachers to borrow the equipment on the cart, we are encouraging physical fitness across the entire first grade level!
