My first grade students are energetic, motivated, and inspired, much like most students at our school. We have an amazing school under amazing leadership and there is definitely a sense of pride in our teachers and our students. Our school is considered high-poverty and most of our students are bilingual--just some of the many challenges our resilient students face on a daily basis. Many of them live in homes with two working parents and still little left over for enrichment activities in the home requiring art materials. Our students artistic abilities are planted, tended and grown at school.
