I am a second-grade teacher in a high poverty elementary school in southern Delaware. I have both regular education and special education students in my classroom. I also have a high population of ESL students who are either new to the country, still learning English or lacking language and vocabulary. I love teaching second grade! Second graders are enthusiastic about learning and becoming independent individuals. My students are so passionate about learning and work so hard to overcome their daily challenges from home and school. I am always looking for ways to continue to challenge my students and better prepare them for third grade.
My Project
We have recently gotten rid of individual desks and replaced them with tables. Tables are great for encouraging collaboration and group work but they offered no storage options for students. Seat sacks offer the storage solution we need because all you need is a chair! The seat sacks will provide students with a place to keep their belongings such as their books, folders, journals, and pencil bags. These seat sacks will help my students be more prepared and allow our day to run more efficiently. Command hooks will allow us to organize sight word and math fact cards so students can easily access them. Please help me provide my students with the organizational tools they need to help them be more successful this year in second grade!
