My Project

Using crates, I will create a place for my students to easily access important materials. File folders will hold necessary handouts of work we will use during the week. If someone is absent they can easily obtain the missing assignment by going to the labeled crate with each days assignments. A second crate will house enrichment activities. I am always striving to not only help my struggling students but to challenge my higher level students. Using a crate as a place to keep assignments will help them and me stay organized. We do not have a lot of storage in our classroom so crates are a simple way for me to add a liitle more storage that is still assessible for students.

The clipboards, also included in this project, allow students to not sit at their desk all day, but to move around the room to collect data.

When I pull my students to the carpet for a story, we always have an activity to do with it as well. Students can not write on a paper while we are together because they need something to lean on. I've had clipboards in the past, but every year some seem to develop legs and walk away! Without a class set, I can not give some students a clipboard and not others.

Lastly, the book bins will help me organize my classroom library according to genre. It is hard for students to find books of interest when they are just thrown on a shelf. I do have some bins but they are costly. I would love to be able to display my books in labeled bins acooding to genre and author for my studnets.
