This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students range in my classroom are between the ages of (6-12) and grades(1-5) and are suffering from Social Emotional Behaviors. Some of my students have trouble adjusting to society because they have been traumatized by an event or several events in their young lives that they are not able to comprehend. This causes them to get easily frustrated and down right angry. These children need help and I will do anything in my power to get them what they need. These students are so young, they do not understand what is happening to them when they are this frustrated.

My Project

We need monthly/weekly calendars, sentence strips and storage bins to organize our classroom and see what is coming up throughout the school year. The students will be given the responsibility of keeping track of the upcoming events that are happening in our school, such as PBIS events and student dress down days and post them for all to see. It's easier for our students to learn responsibility when they see everything in place and have a part in keeping it organized.

Staying organized is key when trying to focus on what's important!

The students will be able to locate leveled books with ease if they are sorted by genre and tucked away neatly in color coated storage bins.

The sentence strips, white boards and dry erase markers will be utilized when they are doing mindfulness and social emotional activities that do not require speaking in class in order to express their thoughts.
