Organization for Our Scientific Brains

My students definitely need pencils and binders to be successful and stay organized in my science course, tissues are a must, and cleaning supplies are needed to keep a tidy room.

My Students

I love that my students are creative and have a desire to learn in engaging ways. My students get really into our science content and always find ways to relate it to real life. My students are from low income families but this does not stop them from inquiring and learning how to reach their dream goals. My students also competed in the department of energy science bowl last year and demonstrated grit and preserved through several rounds. My students are not ashamed to show off how smart they are, especially in science!

My Project

These materials will allow students to be in a tidy environment and give them everything they need to be successful in the class. Binders are for organization of all class handouts. In the binder, students will have 4 tabs: science start, notes/independent practice, homework, and data section. In the past, students keeping up with pencils has been very difficult and as the teacher, I'm always left to provide one. There is no time for excuses in the flow of my class, so having pencils available make things run more smoothly. Not having a pencil is typically the #1 excuse. The last period of the day we always clean off the desk (“ridding bad bacteria” as we call it) and tidy up for next day. Students work better in a clean environment.
