Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I refer to my students as Diamonds. They are all bright and shiny but each is different and unique in their own special way. My classroom is very diverse. It is made up of students of a multitude of different ethnicities, including African American, Hispanic, Caucasian, and Asian American. They all come from low socio-economic backgrounds.

Most of my Diamonds live with grandparents, other family members, or some are homeless and in transient.

Despite the struggles and adversities my students are going through, they always show up to school with a smile on their face. They love school and are always ready to learn.

Their parents or guardians can't afford to purchase school supplies when they are having a hard time putting food on the table. It is my mission to provide them with what they need to be productive in their educational journey.

My class is in desperate need of basic supplies. We need pencils for writing for every subject and they need scissors for cutting. My students need help with organization. They need something that can hold their own personal journal, workbooks and QR codes. The bins would be perfect for this need. My amazing students need these materials for everyday use and to be academically successful throughout the school year.
