Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are extraordinary learners. They work hard every day to learn, explore, and have fun all while combating their disabilities. I have been working with students with Moderate/Severe disabilities for the past 6 years. This school year will look very different as we will be beginning the school year with Distance Learning. In the Spring, Distance Learning was a struggle for my students, myself, and their families. But regardless of the struggles and frustrations, my students and parents showed up, worked hard, and rocked Distance Learning. I was so proud of them and their accomplishments throughout Distance Learning.

While they will struggle with Distance Learning, I know they will persevere.

This year we as we face Distance Learning and eventually in person learning I am hoping to build a classroom of community, love, and learning. I am hoping to provide the best supports to my students and their families throughout this time. These amazing students remind me every day why I do what I do.

My Project

These prep materials will help my staff create fun and engaging supplies and books for my students. It will help use create materials that will be able to be used over and over again. These materials will also support my students learning in reading and writing their letters. I am hoping for the organizational bins to help create independent stations in my classroom so my students can begin to grow in their independence and complete their work on their own. I am hoping that this will lead my students to independence in their future lives.
