This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These materials that I want to give my students will be used to cover concepts given priority in the second-grade curriculum and to improve the organization of our classroom.

Student learning is greatly helped when they have hands-on materials to work with and when they can access their materials easily.

The globes and measuring tapes will improve the hands-on learning experiences we will have as a class. We will use the globes to talk about maps, distances, cultures, and communities. The measuring tapes will help students visualize short distances and measurements. The chair pouches will give students a place to put materials that would otherwise take up space on their desks, such as books for personal reading time.
