This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from an extremely poverty-stricken area. They walk outside and see negativity all around them, and, unfortunately, as they grow older, some become involved in the negativity themselves. Despite unfavorable circumstances, they are eager to discover new things.

My students come from a poor area, but they are just kids.

They deserve the same materials to learn from that other children receive in more fortunate school districts. The bottom line is they are our future, and they all need the right tools to become positive, caring members of society who are able to give back to their community.

My Project

In the past students keep their graded assignments and writing portfolios in folders that are kept inside of milk crates. Unfortunately, we have a big mouse problem at our school and without fail every year their hard work gets ruined by the mice. Being able to save and preserve their work inside bins that are organized by hanging folders that can be securely closed will make a big difference in my classroom.

Along with the bins are some basic supplies such a stapler, erasers, paper organizer and molding clay will allow my students to expand on their creativity with the work they produce which can now be properly saved because of the bins. Additionally, keeping things organized along the way will help students spend more time working and less time trying to find their work.
