My Project

I am writing to request funding for an initiative that promises to enhance the learning experience for all students in our PreK-2 school for the general music program which includes Excel- a special needs program that gets kids ready for kindergarten.

I am hoping to add Orff stands to the music room.

These instruments, xylophones and metallophones, are well suited to this young age group as well as children with special needs. These instrument stands will serve as a valuable tool in various musical activities, including not just instrument playing but also in learning the elements of music and how to be part of a group and community at the same time.

There are many benefits of introducing these stands into our music room. They allow our students to be more comfortable and confident at the Orff instruments and can easily be adjusted to various heights for different student needs and moved throughout the classroom for quick classroom setup changes. Less time is lost through transitions and this allows for more time for students to express their thoughts and ideas freely through music and promote a more dynamic and interactive learning environment.

In music classes, student engagement is crucial for success. These types of tools can offer an interactive platform where students can collaborate through music.

The requested funds will be used to purchase 5 Orff stands which will be enough to supply all 400 children throughout the grade levels in our school when then come to their music classes each week. This investment will have a lasting impact on the quality of education our students receive and will contribute to their development as creative thinkers and active participants in their learning community.
