This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are young men and young ladies who live in the "most dangerous" city in the U.S., as well as having one of the highest poverty rates. They struggle daily in many ways to make it to school but once they arrive, they are ready to go. We have breakfast together and then we are off on our learning adventure for the day.
My students come to school to learn.
They have plans for college and to reach those goals we push everyday to overcome the struggles they face.
My Project
The project I have posted for my students may seem ordinary to you but it will help my students do extraordinary things. Items like binders, highlighters and pencil cases will help my students stay organized. The double pencils will help my students shade fractions. The lined paper will serve as an asset in their smart math notebooks. As you can see, these ordinary items such as graph paper, communicators and markers will help my students do extraordinary things.
My students all have dreams of attending college or having a career after graduation.
These supplies will help them focus on the rigors of their studies instead of searching for a piece of paper or wondering where their pencil is. Again, the most ordinary items can help children with a great mind set to do extraordinary things.
