My Project

Our middle school culinary arts program at our STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts & Math) school has grown tremendously over the past 10 years. It has helped countless students find a creative voice, a new career pathway, and even personal growth. Our programs includes ALL students, from all ability levels and from grades 6 through 8. We have a brilliant Unified FACS program, a robust after school program called Future Chefs, and several other culinary classes.

Each trimester, our students plan, prep and serve a free community dinner during parent teacher conferences.

This gives students a chance to shine and highlight cuisines that are significant to them and our diverse community. We also cook for area charities that food those in need.

In order to continue performing with high standards, we need a refresh on some of our equipment, mainly our sauté pans. With the popularity of our classes (and after school cooking clubs) our pans get almost daily usage and are in desperate need of replacing. The pans we have now are 10 years old and many are not usable. My students and I would be forever grateful for this refresh and would look forward to serving you with up-to-date technology and tools.
