This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are currently enrolled into Oakdale Elementary School which is a Title 1 school. They were given Chromebooks to participate in daily activities for learning, ability to participate in online class through zoom, and access curriculum materials. However, many of my students are raised by parents/grandparents that do not have enough computer knowledge to access material or log on the Chromebook. Therefore, they have not been able to participate lessons. I would love to get them these fire tablets to access apps easier without the worry of logging on.
My Project
These tablets will give my students the ability to access their curriculum and supporting learning apps with ease. No worries about trying to log on using their district email and info that they do not know how to use. No worries about dealing with physical restraints of not being able to use a Chromebook with keyboard and mouse. My kids will be able to touch, drag, draw, and manipulate work. No worries from parents and grandparents about not being technologically literate. The distance learning key to success is access and these tablets will give my students just that, ACCESS!
