I am a second grade teacher in a high-need, low-income community. The students in my class are enthusiastic learners but with the state of funding for education it is sometimes hard to afford all the resources that would help to make learning more accessible for all.

Teaching in a class of 30 students with various skills and learning levels can be very challenging. My students are expected to learn at a fast pace and engaging all 30 students can be very difficult at times. Many of them are visual learners and without a visual aide, learning can be difficult.

I believe that a document camera would benefit my students in so many ways, and in every subject area. With a document camera my students will be able to see everything projected and instruction will be visible to all. Students will be able to see math demonstrations with colored bar graphs, coins, and shapes. Science lessons will be accompanied with colorful photographs of the subject matter presented to all. Language arts instruction will be made so much easier. A document camera will provide a visual aide for all 30 of my students, and will help them see science and math in a much brighter light.
