My Project

My Transition to Kindergarten students need the opportunity to do the most important learning, play! My students are in a full-day program in the elementary school that is play-based. We are always working on social interactions as well as expanding our play.

Help me provide them with open-ended materials to boost creativity and social skills with their peers.

The materials in this project are things that can be used in many different ways. Magnet tiles can be ramps, houses, towers, dinosaurs, sea creatures... they can also be used on the floor or on the light table! The loose parts can be food for the zoo animals we learn about; they can teach us to count, sort, and make patterns.

Having all of these materials available for access in different areas is made easier by having them in open trays that can sit on a table or fit in a shelf. I can't wait to see my students boost their creativity!
