My Students

My students are all male 6-12th graders who are striving for admittance into the best high schools and/or colleges with the ultimate goal of becoming career and college ready.

They are very inquisitive, and I've taught them how to enjoy the world of science.

They love to discover. They enjoy the possibility of learning a new concept on their own. They love the hands-on and collaboration that science provides. My school is a gender-based (all male) STEM School. We are a 6 - 12 school in the urban environment of Baltimore. Our school has many challenges; from a shortage of teachers to supplies, being centered in an urban food desert, and poverty-stricken families where many of our students are homeless. We rely heavily on community support.

My Project

My students would be able to use a Rolling/Mobile TV Cart with Wheels for a 32"-70" inch Promethean board that was funded through Donors Choose.

The Rolling/Mobile TV Cart with Wheels for a 32"-70" monitor will allow the board to be used in a variety of rooms when needed.

The Rolling/mobile cart eliminates the frustration and cost of an expensive installation of a wall mount which usually requires holes to be drilled in the wall. The use of a mobile Promethean Board would allow learning in multiple rooms and styles. Audio, visual, and kinetic learners can watch and listen to material or even follow along on their own synced devices in real-time. Interactivity, engagement, and student performance are positively linked in a classroom environment. The more interactive the lesson, the more likely it that students will engage with and learn the material effectively.
