My Students

My students are special because they have had a good attitude about adapting to the circumstances and have been good to "go with the flow" as we are all learning to navigate our new norm in education. They are also pioneers in trying new and innovative ways to learn and teach.

Our fifth grade class is now entering into year three of school years being impacted by the pandemic.

We are working fast and furious to fill in gaps that have been created with missing key elements from the end of third grade.

My Project

The Fraction Tiles purchased will help fill in the gaps where students may be struggling due to missing the end of third grade. I have a few sets they can share in my classroom now, but if every student has their own, it will help close the gap.

We often use of classroom sets of novels to dive into vocabulary and learn different comprehension strategies.

Using fun and fictional books helps students learn these strategies without getting so bored.

Finally, because we have done so much with online learning, we use Chromebooks and headphones often in the classroom, but are always lacking enough headphones for each student to have their own.
