My Project

As the year progresses, many of my children are ready to expand their reading skills. We need extra easy reading books for our kindergarten friends. My children are learning how to use their alphabet knowledge and are beginning to sound out those consonant vowel consonant words.

My class is learning and has learned lots of sight words and are ready to put them to use and see why it is important to learn these skills and how we use these skills we are working so hard on.

My children's faces light up and they get so excited when they are reading books outside of the ones in our daily curriculum. They go around telling others, especially other teachers how they read that book. With that being said, the more books we have in the classroom library the more children can read independently. I am asking for a variety of "real kids readers" and other books for my classroom library so my kids can continue to develop their skills and become independent readers.
