Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds and cultural backgrounds!

Our school is also one of the most ethnically diverse schools in Las Vegas.

Students speak a multitude of languages including English, Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Arabic.

Our classrooms focus on problem solving and strategical thinking through a variety of learning modalities. Our students love to learn through hands-on opportunities that develop their learning and language skills.

The students at my school are brilliant and highly motivated!

My Project

In our outdoor learning environment, students will have ample space to develop and build critical thinking skills with this checkers board game. Playing checkers helps children to become better learners by flexing their “mental muscles”.

They will also use Dominoes as an excellent manipulative for developing number sense and math skills.

Through the use of these materials, they can build upon dice patterns, counting, matching, sorting, classifying and addition.

Our outdoor learning environment is the perfect place for all classrooms throughout our school to come and use these materials and develop their skills in a fun and exciting manner. We are excited to get the learning started!
