Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project stands out because, even though our school operates on a 1-to-1 student-to-device model, there are still times when students arrive without their computers. Whether due to forgetfulness or unavoidable circumstances, this can disrupt their learning. To address this issue, I hope to create a reliable borrowing system in my classroom. This would allow students to check out a device for the day and return it before heading home, ensuring they can stay engaged and productive, regardless of the occasional hiccup.

What makes my students truly special is that they are part of a rigorous math and science magnet program.

They are consistently challenged to think deeply, write thoughtfully, and solve problems creatively. This program demands a high level of academic engagement and critical thinking, and my students rise to the occasion with remarkable resilience and curiosity.

I am especially proud of how my students embrace intellectual challenges and support one another in their growth. Their dedication to their studies, even when faced with obstacles, inspires me to find solutions that remove barriers to learning. By establishing a classroom device loan system, I hope to better support their academic success and keep them connected to the tools they need every day.
